Robyn - Time Machine
My current favorite from the just leaked tracks off Robyn’s full length Body Talk. I don’t think any of the tracks are as strong as “Dancing On My Own” or “Hang With Me,” but they’re fantastic pop songs.

The XX perform Robyn’s 90’s hit “Show Me Love” at around 3:20. It’s nice to know I’m not the only person who appreciates that song.
So the Body Talk albums aren’t a grand thematic conceit or a decadent folly, they’re a way of getting material out quickly and relatively cheaply. Robyn has been entirely candid about the working process behind the records: these songs are just the ones she had finished when it was time to release the album. Even so, as with any good trilogy, the second episode has a different flavour from the first. Body Talk Pt 1 was a tour of Robyn’s world, spotlighting her urge to experiment and play stylistic dress-up. Body Talk Pt 2 is the all-action follow-up: faster, harder, clubbier. There are no tongue-in-cheek dancehall try-outs here, no Swedish folk songs, nothing as quirky as Fembot. This is the Body Talk for people who like their Robyn upbeat, fierce and dancefloor-ready.
I don’t agree with Ewing’s praise for “U Should Know Better,” but this review is pretty spot on otherwise. I’m insanely hopeful “Indestructible” is the single for Body Talk Pt. 3 just to hear how she turns such a sweeping, gorgeous ballad into a club jam like “Hang With Me.”
And if you haven’t heard the album yet, you can download it here, or wait until it’s release Sept. 7th.
“It’s what it is. It’s pop music. It’s supposed to be there to inspire people. It’s not only about me, you know. And being a little looser with those things is always good for the music, and always good for how the music seems in the future as well.”

Robyn - Indestructible (Acoustic Version)
Robyn’s Body Talk Pt. 2 leaked today. DL here before it’s taken it down. Once again, Robyn delivers some flawless pop music, although there may be a bit too much rapping. But whatever, rapping Robyn is better than nearly every other current pop artist.
